Hello there! I'm Jane Cartwright, the heart behind Southwest HR Solutions.
My journey into the world of HR and business began in a small family-owned housewares and hardware wholesaler. As a key player, I steered the ship into international waters, transforming it into one of the UK's leading housewares importers. This experience ignited my passion for business, propelling me to pursue a degree in the field.
Early on, I grasped a fundamental truth: a company's greatest asset is its people. The performance of individuals shapes a business's success, yet it also introduces significant risks, especially in today's employee-friendly legal landscape. Motivated by this insight, I refocused my career on Human Resources, earning a postgraduate diploma in HR management and becoming a Chartered Member of the CIPD, the premier professional body in HR.
My professional journey has taken me through various senior roles, advising at Director level in diverse organisations. From a national retailer to a startup in pub and hotel management, a global telecommunications giant in the US, to a stint at a fishing industry food production manufacturer – I've seen it all.
While larger corporations often boast dedicated HR support, the risks faced by smaller businesses are just as real. Limited budgets and time mean SMEs can struggle to ensure compliance and effective risk mitigation. Southwest HR Solutions was born out of my commitment to addressing these challenges, focusing on supporting SMEs in the Southwest and across the UK.
I bring over 30 years of knowledge and hands-on experience to the table, helping businesses navigate the HR landscape. My mission is clear: empower SMEs to mitigate employer risks, achieve compliance, and align their human resources with business strategy.
